Dr. Lakshmi Vaidyanathan is board certified in Hospice and Palliative Medicine and has worked as a hospitalist at Memorial Hospital in Easton since 2001. She was a member of the board of Talbot Hospice Foundation from 2003 - 2007.

Interdisciplinary Medical Team

An interdisciplinary team of professionals from within Talbot Hospice Foundation and Shore Home Care Hospice comprise the hospice healthcare delivery team. Our medical partner, Shore Home Care Hospice, provides the Hospice Medical Director and direct oversight, hospice nurses, and social workers. Talbot Hospice Foundation provides trained volunteers, certified nursing assistants, pastoral counseling, and bereavement programs. This healthcare delivery team meets every two weeks to discuss the medical, social, emotional, and spiritual needs of the patient and the family and to support one another in the delivery of care.

FRIENDS OF HOSPICE

Since 1986, the Friends of Hospice has carried out its mission to raise funds for the Talbot Hospice Foundation by sponsoring the annual benefit, Festival of Trees. This four-day event, which kicks off every Thanksgiving weekend, continues to be successful and is made possible through the work of hundreds of community volunteers. Displays of custom decorated Christmas trees, a myriad of special events for children, families and adults, and a homes tour of some of Talbot County’s most exclusive and spectacular private residences are the focus of this annual event. Festival of Trees annually raises about 15% of Talbot Hospice’s funds benefiting the terminally ill and their families living in Talbot County.

The Friends of Hospice is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization, independent of the Talbot Hospice Foundation, with its own articles of incorporation and board of directors. This dedicated organization raises funds every year to help ensure that all services and programs are provided at no charge to our patients or their families.
